Job Title Speech Language Pathologist - Contingent/IRP Department University Hospital | Inpatient Rehabilitation Administration Role Overview The Rehabilitation team provides inpatient and outpatient services to patients with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, neurogenic disorders, orthopedic problems, burns, amputations, and chronic pain. Team members are licensed or certified professionals who work collaboratively within a structured team to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation care. Responsibilities Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans as part of the team approach. Provide a wide variety of speech‑language therapy techniques. Educate and support families and facilitate continuing care planning. Evaluate service quality and participate in outcomes management. Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, support staff, and other team leaders. Offer specialized treatments that promote patient avocational interests, including assessment of interests and education for post‑discharge planning. Serve as a liaison for community link activities, connecting patients, staff, and consumers of Rehabilitation Services. Minimum Qualifications Licensed or certified in speech/language pathology with a master's degree. Licensed in the State of Ohio and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC/SLP). Preferred one to two years of experience in a medical setting. Maintains professional licensure, demonstrates commitment to continuing education, and meets mandatory education and health requirements. Demonstrates technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required for essential job functions.
