Audit/Tax Senior

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage tax, audit, and related assignments. The role requires independent management of client engagements, supervision and mentoring of staff, and active contribution to firm profitability. Responsibilities Complete tax and/or audit projects for designated clients with minimal supervision. Conduct thorough engagement reviews and recognize potential problem areas. Propose effective solutions and communicate findings to clients. Gather and analyze business data, compile reports, and provide recommendations. Develop and maintain client relationships through professionalism and responsiveness. Enhance industry skills through training and knowledge acquisition. Manage time and staff productivity efficiently to increase profitability. Supervise and mentor staff accountants. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Work toward obtaining a CPA license if not already obtained. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (advanced degree preferred). 3-5 years of public accounting experience or equivalent education and work experience. Ability to sit for the CPA exam or have passed a section; CPA license a plus. Strong understanding of accounting and tax rules. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Intellectual curiosity and ability to perform accurate, timely work. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize a fast paced, varied workload and manage concurrent priorities. Openness to constructive feedback and collaborative teamwork. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients. Ability to meet internal deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.). Availability for evenings, weekends, and domestic travel as required. Experience with affordable housing, low income housing tax credits, opportunity zones, renewable energy tax credits, or related areas is helpful but not mandatory.
