Certifications: BLS, NBSTSA, CST

Must-Have: Must be certified as a Surgical Tech, or must have worked as a tech prior to 2015

Description: Locals are not accepted; candidates must be more than 75 miles away. First-time travelers are accepted. On-call requirements include 1 call per week and 1 weekend per month. The unit involves 23 operating rooms and 1 procedure room. Responsibilities include handling elective and emergency surgeries for adult and pediatric patients across a variety of specialties. Previous charge experience is preferred but not required. Charting experience in an Epic system is required. Additional requirements or experiences include knowledge and skills in procedures such as abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid artery stenting, and laparoscopic surgeries among others. Familiarity with fire safety, aseptic technique, and universal protocol is necessary. Candidates will float to different areas as needed. A background check will be conducted on a case-by-case basis. Candidates who have foreign education will need verification. Previous staff returning to the system must have a minimum of 6 months absence. Modules may be required and can be billed up to 5 hours. Any additional time spent beyond 5 hours is non-billable. Modules are to be completed prior to the start date and may vary by specialty.
