Job Description

We are seeking qualified candidates for a nursing position requiring expertise in neurological care within an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will have substantial experience and specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients with neurological conditions.
• Administer medications and monitor patient health status.
• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Float to the Emergency Department, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department as needed.
• Ensure effective patient care through continuous assessment and management.

Qualifications

• Valid California RN License and certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. TNCC is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU setting.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in neuro ICU.
• Experience utilizing Epic charting system is required.
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.

Patient Care Details

• Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics
• Daily Census: 18 to 22 patients
• Number of Rooms: 24
• Interdisciplinary support teams including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and more.

Skills Required

• Expertise in managing various critical situations, such as CVA/Acute Stroke management and post-neurosurgery care.
• Proficient in product administration, IV protocols, and central line management.
• Strong understanding of ventilation management and emergency response actions.

Additional Information

This position includes weekend coverage with expectations for four weekend shifts per month. Candidates must be available for orientation and are required to complete onboarding procedures within specified timelines.
