About the Department of Child Services (DCS): Join a group of passionate, dedicated public servants to support one of Indiana's most critical missions! The Department of Child Services helps children who are victims of abuse or neglect and strengthens families through services that focus on family support and preservation. We pursue permanency for children and families through reunification, guardianship, and adoption. Our services also encompass foster care, child support, and transitional support for those adjusting to adulthood.

Role Overview: The Program Coordinator for the Parent Locate Service (PLS) Unit helps ensure child support collections are processed accurately and that families receive financial support on time. You will assist with locating absent parents, researching participant information, processing and releasing vehicle liens, and managing high-volume mail, calls, and title documents. Your work directly supports statewide child support enforcement and the Vehicle Lien Project.

This is a first-shift position working 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week). You may choose one of the following schedules. Each schedule includes a one-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks. If you prefer a 30-minute lunch, your shift end time is adjusted accordingly.

• Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Overtime is not offered for this role. Flex time may be approved with prior supervisor arrangement. This position is in the central DCS offices at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $34,216.00 per year, but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life: Responsibilities include:

• Compile information relative to the assigned program area.
• Coordinate correspondence for information requests.
• Organize and maintain current and historical files related to the program.
• Organize program reports, applications, and maintain consultative services.
• Maintain and organize program assets.
• Prepare all program related training materials.

What You'll Need for Success: Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:

• General knowledge of the program area.
• Basic knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the assigned program area and its affects upon other agency operations.
• Ability to gather and compile program materials.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process.
• Tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

A degree is not required. Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
