Community Services Specialist - Colleton County

Job Responsibilities Under general supervision, plans, organizes, and supervises administrative activities in an assigned County office and provides coordination and support for basic case management activities. Provides a professional demeanor when working with the public. Prepares correspondence and reports as needed. Answers phones and routes calls appropriately. Provides database entry for all incoming materials, including reports from law enforcement, victims, and others. Implements and maintains procedures for recording and filing administrative forms, reports, documents, and other materials. Supports the practice of electronic files. Responsible for supplies and office inventories and is familiar with office equipment use. Participates in job‑related training and workshops for professional development. Conducts other duties as assigned, required, or requested. Qualifications High school diploma or related clerical experience (substitutable for a diploma). Ability to communicate effectively with the public. Knowledge of community‑based services and ability to share service provider contacts. Proficiency with word processing, current office management practices, and the Juvenile Justice Management System (JJMS). Knowledge of grammatical rules, language usage, and report formatting; ability to organize and support office activities. Knowledge of the care and operation of standard office equipment and machines. Capability to work with non‑incarcerated and incarcerated youth and their families. Some overnight travel for training as needed. Ability to drive and travel throughout the state as required. Training applicable to the duties will be provided. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma and at least two (2) years of clerical experience.
