Metrology R&D Chemist

We have an exciting opportunity at our Mesa, Arizona facility for a Metrology R&D Chemist! The Role The Metrology R&D Chemist will develop and implement new advanced QC metrologies and provide technical support during internal and external taskforce activities. Additional duties include supporting new product development, AMLC material characterization, and supporting the production QC team to advance overall metrology and quality systems processes. Job Description Key responsibilities for this role include: Develop statistically and technically sound analytical test methods for use in the QC production environment, characterizing existing chemical portfolio and emerging chemistries with advisement. Includes selecting and establishing appropriate Long Term Stability monitors (LTS) and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and all associated training. Characterize raw material, intermediates, and various aspects of the supply chain using standard testing. Advance current metrology capabilities through pursuit of new technologies to hit performance targets. Participate in global alignment activities of quality control processes and procedures. Participate in customer-initiated projects, including process/product excursions, quality system improvements, continuous improvement efforts, and roadmap generation and adherence. Effectively self-manage and communicate activities, data collection, and conclusions, both verbally and in writing with management review. Requirements BA/BS in a Chemical related or other Physical Science discipline. 1–2 years of experience in the semiconductor field or in an R&D/production laboratory environment. PhD candidates considered with less experience. Ability to manage activities amidst changing and competing priorities. Strong communication skills across functional groups; capable of leading and directing the work of others. Preferred instrumentation and analytical skills: GC/GCMS, IC/ICMS, HPLC/UPLC/LCMS, GRAA, ICP/OES/MS, FTIR, UV-Vis, electrochemical, and wet chemistry techniques.
