Eviction Attorney - Associate

Our client, a prestigious, nationwide, law firm dedicated to providing legal services to financial institutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Eviction Attorney – Associate , to join their winning team in New York. Our candidate of choice will primarily handle eviction matters for the firm. Prior eviction litigation experience is highly preferred. You will utilize legal knowledge and experience as necessary to facilitate the eviction process on behalf of our clients.Must be licensed in New York. Additional bar licenses are preferred but not required. This is a remote role! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for facilitating high volume eviction caseload, providing legal advice to clients, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents including complaints, motions and opposition, and discovery requests and responses. Representing clients in court hearings. Prior courtroom experience is preferred. Responsible for staying current on eviction law changes and trends throughout the New York. A working understanding of New York City’s Good Cause Eviction Law (“GCEL”) and Rent Stabilization laws is highly preferred. Educating clients regarding eviction law changes and trends. KEY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Member of the New York State Bar, while maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements. Minimum of one year of experience practicing law. Eviction, foreclosure, litigation, or title experience preferred, but not required.
