Job TitleSupervise and coordinate the activity of workers to ensure that work is done safely, correctly and timely.ResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesWorks with and instructs crews on work activitiesInterprets written and/or oral orders, sketches and blueprints to coordinate activities of assigned workers, materials, equipment and toolsInspects quality of all work to ensure company standards and project specifications are metAssists workers in their performance of assigned dutiesAnalyzes and resolves work related problemsReviews material received at jobsite to ensure it is correct and not defectiveChecks equipment to ensure proper working conditionsMaintains time and tracks productionInterprets and enforces company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations company policy to employeesMay study schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of jobMay make cost estimates for contractsEstablishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnelResponsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rulesUse effective verbal and written communication skillsBe capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employeesBe motivated and work safely and productivelyUnderstand and respond accordingly to all safety alerts, warnings, hazards, etc.Performs other duties as requiredQualificationsQualification and RequirementsHas worked in the mechanical field for typically seven years, three of which should be as a Journeyman in his/her craftHave a detailed understanding of construction schedulingUnderstand cost control and be able to implement successfullyFollow oral and written directionsComprehend blueprints, sketches and plansRate information using standards that can be measured or checkedPlan work and activitiesWork within precise limits or standards of accuracyAccurately apply mathematical skillsCompare and see differences in size, shape and form of lines, figures and objectsReading and writing skillsRecognize and report safety hazardsClimb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffoldsWork at heights without fearSee well (naturally or with corrections) and distinguish colorsAbout UsWood is a global leader in consulting, engineering and operations for the energy and materials sectors.
