Senior Accountant

Wylander, a recruiting company specializing in the disaster restoration industry, is hiring a Senior Accountant for a US-based franchise group. This position is in The Colony, TX.

Senior Accountant Compensation and Benefits:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, preparing account reconciliations, overseeing cash management, supporting audits and budgeting, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, and assisting with the onboarding of new entities. This role also serves as a key resource for the accounting team by providing cross-functional support and helping ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

• Complete the month-end close process for all entities that Stellar owns and/or manages, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner
• Responsible for all monthly and quarterly reconciliations of all Balance Sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, prepaids, fixed assets, accounts payable, credit cards, accrued liabilities, notes payable, etc.
• Responsible for cash management, including overseeing collection processes and ensuring revenue recognition schedules are accurate and up to date
• Participate in the annual audit process, including working alongside the team in preparing audit deliverables, drafting narratives, reviewing financials, and assisting with the review and preparation of final audit reports, etc. Assist in preparation and organization for the annual budget.
• Manage annual 1099 reporting as required for all entities that Stellar owns and/or manages
• Assist with the onboarding of new entities to the Stellar accounting platforms
• Cross-train each accounting function to serve as backup for team members when needed.
• Keep up-to-date accounting records of new franchisee/vendor documents.
• Ensure Financial reporting with State and Local Entities is maintained and up to date.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Senior Accountant Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Desire to continue learning and improving job skills to increase personal efficiency and efficiency for the company.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to adapt to change and problem solve as the organization develops and grows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
• 3-4 years of professional experience as an accounting/finance intern, staff accountant, or financial analyst.
