Controls Technician

Controls Technician - Cedar Rapids, IA As a Controls Technician you will join a team that serves as technical experts for the plant. Your responsibilities include executing work orders, providing design support, developing PLC code, SCADA tags and graphic displays for plant and corporate projects, creating trends and reports, training the general maintenance population, and maintaining current control systems. Shift Hours 1st Shift 7:00 am – 3:00 pm. The plant operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Ability and willingness to work overtime, days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Pay $44.93 per hour up to $47.67 per hour based on experience and skill level. Overtime Pay: time worked after 8 hours per day is paid at 1.5× the regular rate; Saturday is 1.5×; Sunday 2×; holidays 3× if eligible. Benefits 15 days (120 hours) of vacation annually and 13 paid company holidays 401(k) match Health insurance including medical, dental, vision, and life coverage Additional benefits available Responsibilities Execute work orders Provide design support Develop PLC code, SCADA tags, and graphic displays for projects Create trends and reports Assist in training the general maintenance population Maintain current control systems Manage large projects and collaborate with electricians and drafters Qualifications High school diploma or GED Minimum 2 years of controls programming and industrial controls technology experience Experience programming and configuring Allen Bradley PLC platforms Ability to configure and program control systems including Wonderware, ArchestrA Systems, and others Read and update electrical and control schematics Read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) Design and troubleshoot a range of electrical and instrumentation systems Calibrate and interface with analog transmitters, VFDs, load cells, flow meters, level probes, and other smart devices Excellent troubleshooting and complex problem‑solving skills Knowledge of control networks: EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Modbus, PROFIBUS Experience with network communication technologies and Ethernet topologies Experience with client/server architecture using Terminal Services Experience in servo, Visual Basic, and database programming Control system project implementation experience Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Perform physical tasks for extended periods: standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces Climb and/or work at heights using stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms Wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, hair and beard nets, and gloves when required Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment Adapt to hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental conditions Work around industrial high‑speed moving machinery Work with allergens that may be present in a food environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
