HVAC Mechanic II (S)The primary purpose of the Plant Maintenance Section is to ensure the successful operation of the physical plant and facility infrastructure. This position maintains and services all HVAC systems for Murdoch Center in addition to a satellite facility used for cold storage, the Oxford and Wright Path group homes, and the old ADATC facility consisting of seven buildings. This position repairs and provides preventive maintenance for all Murdoch Center's heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration. New equipment is installed as required. On occasion, this position will assist with maintenance repairs and other types of work for other State agencies. This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am - 4pmKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:Considerable skill level in areas of HVAC systems to include 4 years' experience in HVAC systems and equipment, including pneumatic control systems, commercial hydronic air handling equipment, and DDC HVAC control systems.Working knowledge of tools.Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and to prescribe and perform repair procedures.Current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations part 82, subpart F.Physical Requirements: ADA - Heavy WorkThis Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.To be considered for employment, applicants must be in good standing with the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry.
