Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Architect specializing in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to lead enterprise cloud architecture, governance, and hybrid cloud integration initiatives for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in New York, NY.

In this role, you will design scalable, highly available, and secure cloud solutions across OCI, AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust architecture frameworks.

Note: This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days on-site at MTA Headquarters (2 Broadway, NYC) and 2 days remote. An active OCI Architect Professional or Associate Certification is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• OCI & Multi-Cloud Architecture: Design and implement enterprise-grade OCI cloud architectures, multi-cloud strategies (AWS/Azure/GCP), frameworks, governance models, and organizational standards.

• Database & Platform Integration: Architect solutions for mission-critical Oracle environments, including Exadata, ExaCC, ExaDB-D, DBaaS, OEM, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN, and ASM.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive automation and orchestration initiatives using Terraform, Ansible, APIs, and CLI utilities.

• Hybrid Cloud & Networking: Design secure hybrid infrastructure, cloud networking, VLAN configurations, backup strategies, and disaster recovery (DR) frameworks.

• SRE, Security & FinOps: Establish cloud security policies, cost-optimization (FinOps) models, monitoring/alerting systems, and SRE metrics (SLAs, SLOs, SLIs).

• Architecture Documentation: Create comprehensive technical architecture diagrams and blueprints using Visio or Abacus.

Required Skills & Experience:

• OCI Experience: 6 9+ years of hands-on expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

• Hybrid Infrastructure & Networking: 4 6 years of enterprise hybrid cloud integration and network architecture experience.

• DevOps & Automation: 4 6 years of experience using Terraform and Ansible for cloud provisioning.

• Cloud Security & FinOps: 2 3 years in cloud security governance and 1 2 years in cloud cost management (FinOps).

• Multi-Cloud (Nice to Have): 1 2 years of hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Database Technologies: Deep proficiency in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, Exadata, and ExaCC platforms.

• Certifications: Current OCI Architect Professional or Architect Associate certification is strongly preferred.
