Patient Registrar

Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to enable patients to successfully secure access to care at our healthcare facilities. In this role, you will perform all tasks related to the registration and pre-registration of outpatient and inpatient accounts. You will be responsible for calculating and securing patient liability—including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles—in an efficient, accurate, and hospitable manner to ensure the needs of our patients, physicians, and the hospital are consistently met. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive registration and pre-registration for inpatient and outpatient accounts. Calculate and collect patient liabilities, such as deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance. Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, guarantors, insurance companies, and physicians. Navigate through multiple computer screens and software systems in a timely manner to process patient information. Maintain stringent adherence to all HIPAA laws and patient confidentiality protocols. Travel to off-site clinic locations as needed (Outpatient roles only). Solve problems proactively and make swift, accurate decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; evidence of continuing education preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a high-volume healthcare facility, medical office, or medical billing environment. background in medical insurance, billing processes, and verifying coverage (Required). Knowledge of medical terminology (Strongly preferred). Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for off-site travel. Technical & Hard Skills Typing speed of 45+ WPM (Required). computer proficiency, including hands-on experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Solid mathematical, reading, and spelling skills. Soft Skills Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills. Outstanding customer service and professional telephone etiquette. analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to learn quickly, follow strict policy directions, and multitask effectively. bilingual in Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin) is a plus
