Position Overview

We are currently in search of a dedicated and experienced Physician to take on the role of Director for Observation Services. This position is vital for maintaining exceptional standards of patient care and operational effectiveness within our observation units.

• Recruit and retain physicians for the Emergency Department (ED) Observation unit.
• Oversee quality metrics and outcomes for the observation program.
• Engage with referring physicians and address their concerns.
• Assess and provide feedback to ED Observation physicians regarding their clinical and administrative performance.
• Ensure that the patients of ED Observation physicians meet established quality and patient satisfaction standards set by regulatory and payer organizations.
• Act as a liaison between the ED Observation program and various clinical departments.
• Guarantee timely communication with patients and provide opportunities for their questions to be answered.
• Collaborate with other areas of the health system to achieve organizational goals related to the ED Observation program.
• Work alongside nursing and other clinical team members to develop and implement care protocols for optimal patient care.

• Medical degree with relevant board certification.
• Experience in emergency medicine or observation services.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
