People Services Specialist

Where Employee Experience Comes First

The People Services Specialist plays a critical role in independently managing complex onboarding and shared services functions, ensuring a best-in-class experience for employees at all levels. This position requires advanced expertise and ownership of high-impact onboarding processes such as relocation management, adverse action processing, and international onboarding.

What You'll do

• Oversee and execute complex onboarding processes with a deeper understanding of people services, including manager and above onboarding, international assignee onboarding, and sensitive new hire cases.
• Assist the People Services Center (PSC) manager with the relocation process, coordinating with third party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions for relocating employees.
• Serve as a process owner for adverse action reviews, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Manage all employee eligibility processes, including tracking, proactive communication for reverification, and compliance with employment.
• Act as a subject matter expert for onboarding best practices, ensuring an optimized experience for employees and managers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, payroll, IT, and hiring managers, to ensure smooth employee lifecycle transitions.
• Support and mentor Level 1 People Services Coordinators, providing guidance and expertise on complex cases.
• Own presentation of onboarding material to training classes including WIN and Hiring the Best People (HTBP)
• Deeper understanding of HR processes, enabling a greater understanding of shared service tickets and proper support and escalation.

What You'll Bring

• This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization or visa sponsorship (including initial, transfer, or extension), and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and remain authorized for the duration of employment without the need for sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, required
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in onboarding, shared services, or other HR related operations role, required
• Portuguese required, Spanish preferred
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills required
• Excellent at stakeholder management
• Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team setting
• Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Strong ability to multi-task while maintaining focus on service levels
• Outstanding organizational and process-oriented skill set. High attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• Contagious and positive work ethic; ability to inspire others and model Hilti's core values
• Up to 5% domestic travel
