Description:

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our healthcare practice in Van Nuys, CA.  The ideal candidate is a patient-focused provider who is comfortable evaluating and treating a diverse patient population, working independently, and collaborating with physicians and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and patient evaluations. 
• Diagnose and treat various work-related injuries.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and provide patient education.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
• Prescribe medications and treatments within the scope of licensure.
• Manage chronic conditions and coordinate ongoing patient care.
• Perform appropriate office-based procedures based on training and experience.
• Conduct DOT physical examinations in accordance with applicable FMCSA requirements.
• Complete required DOT medical examination documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
• Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current certified California Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.
• National certification (PA-C, FNP-C, or applicable NP certification).
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain certification as a DOT Medical Examiner through the FMCSA National Registry.
• Willingness to complete the required DOT Medical Examiner training and certification process if not already certified.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
• Primary care, occupational medicine, urgent care, or family medicine experience preferred.
• DOT examination experience is preferred but not required for candidates who are willing and eligible to obtain certification.
