Position Overview Join Ad Astra Behavior Analytic Services as a Behavior Technician and gain meaningful hands‑on experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This position provides an opportunity to start or advance your career while creating a positive impact in the lives of children and their families. In this role, you will provide direct, individualized support by carrying out ABA treatment programs developed to teach new skills and encourage positive behavioral outcomes. Services take place in clients' homes and community-based environments according to their individualized treatment needs. Most sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with scheduling flexibility depending on client needs and your availability. Compensation ranges from $20-$27 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation opportunities may be available for bilingual Spanish-speaking applicants. Key Responsibilities As a Behavior Technician, you will work directly with children as they build important communication, social, adaptive, and daily living skills. You will utilize evidence-based ABA strategies to support skill acquisition, foster increased independence, and address behaviors that may impact learning, safety, or everyday functioning. Individuals with coursework, degrees, or experience in psychology, education, human services, child development, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Qualifications To be considered for the Behavior Technician position, applicants must meet the following requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Active auto insurance with the applicant listed as a covered driver Current negative TB test We are seeking individuals who demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving abilities, creativity, dependability, and professionalism. The ability to collaborate effectively with BCBAs and other members of the clinical team is essential. Physical and Cognitive Requirements: Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and transition between floor-level and standing positions throughout the workday. Actively participate in developmentally appropriate client activities, including floor-based activities, movement-based activities, transitions, and safety monitoring. Safely navigate assigned work environments, including homes, clinics, schools, community settings, and remote/telehealth settings, as applicable. Occasionally, lift, carry, push, pull, or move therapy materials and equipment, typically up to 50 pounds. Sit for extended periods while providing telehealth services or completing computer-based work as needed. Use hands and fingers to operate computers, keyboards, mobile devices, and other equipment requiring fine motor coordination. Maintain visual and auditory awareness to observe client behavior, monitor safety, and communicate effectively in both in-person and virtual settings. Read, understand, retain, and apply written and verbal information. Maintain attention, concentration, situational awareness, and sound judgment in dynamic environments. Collect, record, and submit accurate client data and session documentation. Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information. Maintain professionalism and emotional resilience when addressing sensitive client or employee matters, complaints, and workplace concerns. Paid cancellations are provided for up to 2 hours of pay if a client cancels within 30 minutes or less of the scheduled start time and/or technician has already departed for the session. We also actively monitor and address excessive client cancellations to protect technician schedules and maintain consistent hours.
