Senior Media Planner

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a strategic media expert who can guide healthy, happy client-agency relationships while leading the development and execution of integrated media strategies. In this role, you will be the primary strategic advisor to assigned client accounts (mid-6 figures and up), leading media mix discussions, developing channel media plans, and executing campaigns that drive measurable client business results. You'll spend 60% of your time on strategic planning and hands‑on execution, and 40% leading a team of media coordinators and buyers. You listen to clients, see the strategic opportunities, develop cohesive media strategies across traditional and digital channels, and inspire your team to deliver outstanding work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Strategy & Relationship Management: Lead strategy discussions with clients to understand their business model, competitive landscape, revenue drivers, and how media can impact their goals. Develop integrated media mix strategies across traditional and digital channels that align with client business objectives and budget constraints. Present media strategies with confidence and conviction, handle client questions, and position yourself as the trusted strategic partner. Maintain primary client contact for assigned accounts; manage expectations, proactively communicate, and build strong relationships that result in client retention and budget growth. Media Planning & Execution: Develop complete media plans including budget allocation, flowcharts, channel recommendations, creative specs, timelines, and measurement frameworks. Manage campaign execution to stay within budget, on timeline, and deliver against performance targets; adjust strategy and tactics based on real‑time performance data. Analytics & Optimization: Understand and track performance metrics, optimization opportunities, and ROI; interpret data to drive strategic recommendations and client conversations. Deliver impactful performance reporting that is rooted in data and pulls in larger digital strategy context.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

6-8+ years of media planning and/or buying experience in agencies or in-house (agency experience preferred). Proven expertise in developing integrated media strategies across traditional and digital channels that drive client business results. Significant knowledge of digital media platforms (Meta, Google, programmatic, etc.), tactics, and optimization opportunities; ability to lead informed strategy discussions about digital. Demonstrated ability to manage client accounts in the mid-6 figures and up range across multiple verticals. Strong client-facing skills: ability to present confidently, handle objections, build trust, and be a primary point of contact. Experience managing, mentoring, and developing media coordinators and/or media buyers. Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Strata media platform, project management tools, and learning new platforms quickly. Track record of developing media strategies that deliver measurable results for clients. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; ability to grasp client business context quickly and translate it into actionable media strategy.
