Outside Sales Representative
Location: Richmond, VA or Chesapeake, VA

• Our client is a growth platform focused on helping small businesses generate leads, calls, and revenue growth. The company provides technology and software solutions designed to help local businesses attract customers, manage relationships, and grow their business
• The platform serves a wide variety of small and local businesses, including roofing, HVAC, salons, florists, law firms, and other service-based businesses
• The company is experiencing significant growth within its sales organization and is expanding its Outside Sales team across multiple markets nationwide

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• The Outside Sales Representative is a true field-based sales position focused on developing relationships with local business owners and generating new business within an assigned territory
• This is not an inside-sales role where you will spend most of your time behind a desk. Successful representatives are expected to be active in their local communities, meet business owners face-to-face, build relationships, and develop their own pipeline

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

• Prospect for new business opportunities within your assigned territory
• Meet with local business owners in person
• Network with business owners and local professionals
• Attend community and networking events
• Build and maintain strong face-to-face relationships with prospects and customers
• Generate your own sales pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and other business development activities
• Educate small-business owners on technology and software solutions that can help grow their business
• Identify customer needs and present solutions that align with their business goals
• Develop new business and consistently work toward sales goals and quotas
• Become a local ambassador for the company within your assigned market
• Manage the sales process from prospecting through close
• Build and maintain a strong book of business
• Participate in sales meetings, training, and ongoing development

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• We are looking for driven, relationship-focused sales professionals who enjoy being out in the field and working directly with business owners

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 2 years of full-cycle sales experience
• Experience in outbound sales and new business development
• Approximately 3+ years of overall professional experience
• A proven ability to prospect, build relationships, and close business
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong networking and relationship-building abilities
• An interest in technology, software, and digital solutions
• A genuine interest in helping small businesses grow
• A self-motivated and goal-oriented approach to sales
• The ability to work independently and manage a territory
• Comfort meeting customers and prospects face-to-face
• The ability and willingness to spend significant time in the field

Candidates with backgrounds in outside sales, B2B sales, business development, territory sales, merchant services, payroll, telecom, advertising, digital marketing, business services, SaaS, or other consultative sales environments are encouraged to apply.
