Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring strong PICU experience and the ability to float between PICU, CVICU, and NICU.

Details

• > Work in the Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool at a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma hospital
• Care for pediatric patients across PICU, CVICU, and NICU settings
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2, with 1:3 possible when floating to NICU
• Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM) or night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM) available
• Every other weekend required, with option for blocked weekend scheduling
• Floating required within scope between NICU, PICU, and CVICU to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• > Active DC RN license required, with pending licenses accepted if application is submitted within 24-48 hours of signing
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience required
• Strong PICU experience required with comfort floating to CVICU and NICU
• Some NICU/CICU experience highly preferred due to floating expectations
• Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency in critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, CRRT, ICP monitoring, and management of pediatric emergency medications

Additional Information

• > Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients across multiple units including PICU, CVICU, and NICU
• Scrubs may be any color but must be child-friendly and logo-free
• Maximum RTO of 7 days; if a full week is taken, a week must be added to the end of the contract to make up missed time
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
• Previous Children's National employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required, with one holiday guaranteed based on preference
