Clinical Dietician (Part Time) - O'Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center

Overview Agency: Dept of Health and Human Services Division: O’Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center Job Classification Title: Clinical Dietitian (NS) Position Number: Grade: MH12 Description The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for delivering quality comprehensive nutritional assessments which include developing special meal plans, calculating tube feedings, documenting and providing follow-ups for individuals with neurocognitive disorders, with coexisting complex medical and behavioral needs. This position functions as a member of the Dysphagia Team which determines diet and fluid consistencies and appropriate mealtime strategies for residents. Position will manage assigned caseload and attend department meetings to ensure resident care is achieved. This position has routine patient contact and participates as a knowledgeable resource in the planning of dietary needs for our residents. This position requires strong organization and time management skills, as well as active communication and collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Considerable knowledge of currently accepted principles and practices of nutrition and dietetics. Considerable knowledge of diet therapy and disease. Ability to assess, design, and implement nutritional care plans for individuals. Skill in teaching, diet counseling and communicating such as patient education. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships as well as the ability to work independently. Work Schedule Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. This position currently qualifies for a hybrid work option with routine office and remote workdays. Hybrid schedules and telework options remain subject to change at the discretion of management. This position is exempt from NC General Statute Chapter 126 with certain exceptions. This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events. For more information: the DHHS website. Education and Experience Requirements Must have licensure with the State of NC as a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist. Master’s degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an ACEND-accredited program and current CDR registration in good standing; or Bachelor’s degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an ACEND-accredited program and current CDR registration in good standing, plus two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting. *Candidates will be considered while completing licensure requirements.
