Electrical Foreman – Location: Mentone, TX – Type: Full time General Information / Job Summary Coordinates and directs the activities of craft personnel to complete construction and maintenance tasks in a timely, safe, and cost‑efficient manner. Works under the direction of the General Foreman and/or Superintendent, supervising and directing the work of a group of craft or trade engaged in various tasks; performs other related duties as required. Responsibilities Maintain broad working knowledge of assigned craft (scaffolding, insulation, carpentry, pipefitting, equipment operation/rigging, instrument/electrical, welding) and demonstrate above‑average knowledge and extensive personal experience in the trade. Enforce safety policies, promote safety awareness, and keep supervisors informed of progress and problems. Develop effective work plans, give assignments/instructions, and supervise work activity of crews. Motivate crew members to complete tasks safely, skillfully, and efficiently, ensuring on‑schedule progress. Read and visualize objects from blueprints; possess eye for precise detail. Estimate labor, materials, and equipment required for assignments. Inspect and test or supervise inspection/testing of completed work, checking for compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality control procedures. Prepare daily reports, maintain records, files, and inventory of material associated with assigned work. Recommend promotion/demotion of subordinates and identify training needs. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Four years of experience in installing conduit, cable tray, electrical buildings with gear 120‑25kV, and cable pulls/terminations for instrumentation, 600V to 25kV. Minimum three years of experience as an Industrial Electrical Foreman (Leadsman requires one year). Ability to report daily crew progress and plan materials for upcoming tasks. Valid safety training: Saulsbury Industries safety training education, Supervisors Safety Training OSHA10. Pass required drug test in compliance with Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti‑drug program. Safety Requirements Promote environmental, health, and safety policies continually. Attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training and specialty training as directed. Present safety meetings and participate in training classes assigned by management. Attend Supervisors Safety Training OSHA10 and maintain certification. Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Climb 30‑foot ladders without resting. Maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces. Stand for long periods of time. Reach above head while standing or sitting, and reach below knees while standing. Perform work up to and over 50 hours per week. Possess finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, depth perception, and far visual acuity for small detail. Cognitive Requirements Follow safety procedures, conduct safety checks, and hold safety meetings. Comprehend written instructions, technical manuals, safety procedures, and parts catalogs. Perform basic mathematical calculations. Communicate routine and technical information with co‑workers and supervisors. Lead a work crew and organize assigned work. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and identify corrective actions. Inspect, analyze, and determine work to be done. Make decisions regarding course of action based on work conditions and quality. Operate assigned equipment. Temperament Attributes Cooperate with co‑workers, supervisors, and other crafts. Work under time pressure and respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations. Make sound decisions consistent with essential job functions. Understand, remember, and follow oral and written directions. Take needed safety precautions in performing work.
