This is an evergreen requisition intended to build a pipeline of qualified candidates for future Cook opportunities across World Equestrian Center's restaurants, quick-service outlets, banquets, catering operations, and specialty dining venues. Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food in accordance with World Equestrian Center standards. This position supports daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, executing recipes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring guests receive exceptional dining experiences. Successful candidates demonstrate strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.

• Prepare ingredients, including washing, chopping, measuring, portioning, and storing products.

• Maintain proper food handling, labeling, dating, and storage procedures.

• Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met at all times.

• Monitor food inventory levels and notify leadership of product shortages.

• Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing deliveries using FIFO procedures.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, coolers, and storage areas.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

• Work collaboratively with chefs, supervisors, and fellow team members to meet service demands.

• Assist with banquet, catering, event, and restaurant production needs as assigned.

• Support opening, closing, and side work responsibilities.

• Minimize waste and adhere to portion control guidelines.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to follow recipes, production sheets, and standardized procedures.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Availability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Preferred

• Previous restaurant, hotel, banquet, catering, or food service experience.

• Experience working on line stations, prep stations, banquet production, or quick-service operations.

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

• Culinary training or certification preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, and lift during food preparation and service.

• Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including hot kitchen conditions and refrigerated storage areas.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

• Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment.
