Staff Pharmacist – 1st Shift
Schedule Options:
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM + every 3rd weekend, Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM + every 3rd weekend, Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a Staff Pharmacist to provide safe, accurate, and patient-focused pharmacy services. The Pharmacist will dispense medications, counsel patients, oversee pharmacy staff, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Accept, review, prepare, and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance, overuse patterns, and potential drug-related problems
- Ensure medications are appropriate and dispensed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy files
- Counsel patients on medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, reactions, and drug interactions
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications
- Provide patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
- Compound medications for internal or external use
- Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other pharmacy staff
- Maintain appropriate inventory of medications and medical supplies
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, interns, and other members of the healthcare team
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
- Current state pharmacy license required
- Strong knowledge of medications, drug interactions, and pharmacy practices
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to work the assigned schedule, including every 3rd weekend
