Data Engineer - BI & Analytics

REMOTE- EST HOURS

• Fabric is now an explicit "must have," not just nice-to-have - hands-on experience, mid-level (not solution architect level), supporting the team's seasoned Fabric architect.
• Power Automate/Power Apps lowered to should have. Must be proficient. It will be the smallest % of time, but important b/c of a skills gap on team. It's KTL (keep-the-lights-on) work on existing apps, not a heavy build. A skills gap on the team
• Split confirmed: 20-30% data engineering/pipeline orchestration, 30-40% Power BI, remainder Power Automate.
• Level: Data Engineer 2 equivalent - not junior, not architect-level.

Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, Power BI Data Analyst, Power Platform Developer Associate, or similar certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Strong hands-on experience with DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL, along with working proficiency in Python and Spark (PySpark/Spark SQL) for pipeline and notebook development. Solid understanding of Microsoft Fabric architecture, including OneLake, Lakehouse, and medallion (bronze/silver/gold) design patterns, with experience supporting Fabric environment administration, configuration, and governance. Working experience building Power Automate flows and Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), including Dataverse, custom connectors, and Power Platform environment/DLP governance.

Requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines, notebooks, flows, apps, and report performance. Attention to detail, commitment to follow through, and ability to work independently following general direction and oversight from leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting Fabric and Power Platform capacity, workspace/environment, and security administration.

Familiarity with big data technologies and frameworks such as Spark and Databricks, and experience with Azure Logic Apps or Azure Functions for more complex integration scenarios.

Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and governance best practices.
