Responsibilities

• The Assistant Dining Services Director is accountable for the quality of food served within the nursing center and for patient/family satisfaction. This individual assists in providing technical guidance and administrative direction over food planning, menu, and serving of meals, and in the oversight and training of staff.

Investigates trends and developments in dietary practices and techniques and evaluates their adaptability to dietary programs.

Adheres to all sanitary and food safety regulations governing handling and serving of food.

Monitors meal preparation and ensures meals are served on schedule.

Manages the tray line/meal distribution to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Develops, revises, and adapts work techniques and methods for more efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Certification in accordance with regulatory agencies governing the nursing center.
• Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls and presentation.
• Must be ServSafe certified.
