Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Nurse specializing in inpatient acute rehabilitation settings is needed in Independence, Missouri. The role involves providing specialized nursing care on a 16-bed rehab unit, utilizing advanced equipment and adhering to facility policies. The position offers the opportunity to work with a highly experienced team in a well-maintained environment with private rooms and new technology.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Educational and Experience Requirements: Four years of nursing experience with inpatient acute rehabilitation familiarity, including knowledge of Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and CARE Tool measures.
• Additional Qualifications: Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• Special Skills: Experience with wound care, line insertion, blood and antibiotic administration.

  • Unit Size: 16 beds, patient ratios of 1:5
  • Equipment: Sara Steady lift, Hoyer lift, Alaris Pumps
  • Scheduling: Three shifts per week, including every third weekend
  • Policies: Floats first to similar units; uniform required (grey scrub top with black or grey scrub bottoms)
• Hospital Specifics: The unit is well-equipped with new equipment and private Rehab Suites. A one-week orientation is included, and current staff include experienced RNs with four or more years of experience.
