Advanced Practice Provider, Cardiac Critical Care Unit Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS – Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, UT Health Austin. Position Overview: We are seeking an advanced practice provider with cardiac critical care credentials to join our multidisciplinary team and deliver world‑class pediatric cardiac critical care. Responsibilities Counsel and educate cardiac critical care patients and their families concerning health conditions, treatment options, and community resources. Document delivery of cardiac critical health care and nursing processes in accordance with care standards and network nursing policy. Participate in orientation and education of staff and students. Obtain cardiac critical care patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients; perform health assessments, screening, and patient care. Provide direct treatment and management of cardiac critical care conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other health‑care providers or community resources. Engage in discharge planning. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Physician Assistant or licensed registered nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing. Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority specializing in cardiac critical care. Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in acute care nursing. Experience caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a pediatric and congenital cardiac critical care unit. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast‑paced environment with minimal guidance. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations. Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi‑disciplinary health‑care delivery team. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Salary Range $120,000+ depending on qualifications. Working Conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Lifting and moving.
