Intern - Corporate Affairs - Public Affairs (Global)

Gilead Sciences seeks an intern to support global public affairs communications initiatives across therapeutic areas including oncology and cell therapy. The role involves developing strategic communications, creating content, conducting research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on high-impact projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communications strategies supporting Global Research, Development, and Therapeutic Area Public Affairs
- Create communications materials including presentations, briefing documents, fact sheets, and digital content
- Conduct research on scientific, healthcare, policy, and industry topics to inform communications planning
- Translate complex scientific and clinical information into clear, audience-appropriate messaging
- Collaborate with colleagues across Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, and other functions on key initiatives
Requirements
- Currently enrolled full-time in Bachelor's, Master's, MBA, JD, or PhD program at accredited U.S. university
- Minimum 2.8 cumulative GPA at time of application and hire
- Independent work authorization in United States; no sponsorship required
- Availability for 10-12 consecutive weeks full-time internship between May and August
- Ability to work on-site at Foster City location (hybrid model); willing to relocate if needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and strong written/verbal communication skills
- Preferred: degree in Communications, Public Relations, Life Sciences, Public Health, or related field
