- Certificate by the state of Texas to teach in the subject area assigned.

- Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, assessment strategies, and motivational strategies that promote authentic student engagement.

- Appropriately plans for remediation and intervention for students identified as at-risk.
- Appropriately modifies and accommodates student's needs based on IEP goals and 504 accommodations.
- Works cooperatively with the campus librarian in the selection of materials appropriate to the subject area.
