Work Environment The position offers a full-time remote work setting, providing flexibility while maintaining a structured routine from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their unique care needs and challenges. Deliver individual and group counseling sessions targeted at addressing emotional struggles related to aging, grief, and life transitions. Cooperate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive, tailored care plans for seniors. Provide guidance and training to staff and families on strategies and interventions that promote emotional well-being and enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals. Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for clients and their families navigating end-of-life issues to ease emotional burdens. Implement cognitive stimulation programs and other mental health interventions designed to enhance mental acuity and emotional resilience in aging individuals. Patient Population / Client Focus This role primarily focuses on providing mental health support to seniors facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges associated with aging. Our clients may be coping with loss, adapting to new life circumstances, or managing mental health conditions such as depression or anxiety. The ideal candidate will have expertise in understanding the unique needs of geriatric populations, employing trauma-informed approaches tailored to their experiences and backgrounds. Qualifications A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential. Minimum of four years of recent, direct experience providing mental health counseling and support to geriatric patients. Specialized training or certifications in geriatric mental health and evidence-based practices. Proficient understanding of various mental health challenges encountered by aging populations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills conducive to establishing rapport with elderly clients. Deep empathy and cultural sensitivity to effectively engage with diverse senior populations. Preferred Experience Hands-on experience in outpatient mental health settings. Familiarity with developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments. Knowledge of current best practices and ethical standards in geriatric mental health care. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 65,000 to USD 95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
