Job Title Physician OR Clinical Researcher – Internal Medicine Dept, Palliative Care Division (Open Rank/Track Faculty) Department The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center; Center for Research Excellence in Supportive Care (CREST) at James Cancer Center / Solove Research Institute; Section for Pain and Palliative Care Research (SPARC) in the Division of Palliative Medicine. Position Overview Seeking research faculty (physicians, other doctoral‑level clinicians, clinical PhDs, or non‑clinical PhDs) to join a group of five faculty and one post‑doc focused on supportive care research. Content areas include aging and cognitive impairment, pain and symptom management, substance use, medical cannabis in patients with serious illness (particularly cancer), qualitative methods, prospective cohort studies, clinical trials, and implementation science. Preference for candidates with a cancer research focus but willingness to expand to cancer research is desirable. Responsibilities Develop and conduct an independent research program in supportive care; collaborate with a multidisciplinary team; mentor early‑career investigators; engage in grant writing and fundraising; publish results; participate in teaching and clinical activities as appropriate. Requirements Applicants may be physicians, other doctoral‑level clinicians (e.g., PsyD, DPT), clinical PhDs (e.g., clinical psychologists), or non‑clinical PhDs. Publication record commensurate with faculty rank is expected. Current federal or foundation funding is preferred but not required.
