Veterinary Technician Assistant - General Practice

Join a new general practice in Portland, Portland Vet - Stroudwater, and build something new from day one. As our new GP clinic opens its doors, we re seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to help deliver exceptional patient and client care in a collaborative and expanding environment.

Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position

• Monday through Thursday to start, no weekends or holidays ( potential for a weekend day with growth; flexibility is appreciated)
• Bonus potential for very experienced assistants

Compensation

• Pay range $23-29/hr, commensurate with experience and credentials

What You ll Do

• Safely handle and restrain patients with minimal stress during exams and treatments
• Assist in diagnostics: lab sample collection, radiographs, record vitals, perform basic lab work
• Support the team during routine procedures including surgery and dentistry
• Maintain tidy, organized treatment rooms, exam rooms, and supply areas
• Help communicate with clients and provide supportive guidance throughout their visit

What We re Looking For

• Veterinary assistant with at least 1 2 years of experience in small animal practice
• Proficient knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal handling, and basic medical workflows
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills in a fast-paced clinic environment
• Tech-savvy and comfortable learning software like ezyVet
