Custodian PositionThis position is full-time with benefits and paid time off, 8 hrs/day, Mon-Fri, $17.65/hr. Reports to: Building PrincipalPosition Objective: The Custodian maintains building and grounds in as optimal condition as possible for all stakeholders.Essential Functions:Empties trash in all classrooms, bathrooms, office and loungeCleans and disinfects all sinks, toilets, urinals, soap holders, paper towel holders, and toilet dividersCleans all mirrorsWet mops bathroomsCleans water fountainsVacuums classrooms and matsDust mops hallways and gym floors; use floor machine as neededCleans up after school activitiesLocks doors and windowsCommunicates with head custodian regarding repair/maintenance needsAdditional Functions:Buffs floors as neededDusts rooms, hallways and bathrooms as neededOther duties as assignedQualifications:High School Diploma or GEDCompetencies:Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levelsWorking Conditions:Mental Demands: calculating, comparing, evaluation, interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, planning, documenting, specifyingPhysical Demands: bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting for prolonged periods of time, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuityEnvironmental Conditions: The work is performed primarily indoors; however, outside work is required on occasion.
