Accounting Manager

Accounting ManagerTerraPower is seeking an Accounting Manager who will demonstrate extensive knowledge in GAAP as well as experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud or another Tier 1 ERP system (SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Dynamics 365).Responsibilities include:Process leader of Accounts Payable cycleEnsuring that root causes of payment issues are identified, documented and resolved. Implementation of sustainable process changes & improvementsEstablishment of clear ownership, action plans and follow up for AP exceptionsCross-functional work across finance & business operations functions to resolve complex or recurring AP issues. Translation of finance requirements into guidance for non-finance stakeholdersEscalate material, time sensitive, or control related issues with clear facts, options and recommended solutionsDaily accounting activities and period-end close by monitoring & reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and providing timely & accurate internal and external reportingSupport complex accounting matters & business transactionsIdentifies & implements automation opportunities and process improvementsProactively identifies and proposes accounting solutions for new or unusual business transactions and helps to ensure that the day-to-day accounting is consistent with corporate accounting policies and proceduresSupports ERP system projects, including defining requirements & testing/validating outputsAbility to implement policies and procedures to help improve efficienciesSupports internal and external audits. Submits initial deliverables & handles follow-up queriesMinimum qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is requiredFive or more years of progressive accounting experience, including significant end-to-end AP or procure-to-pay responsibility.Demonstrated experience owning AP operations, resolving complex exceptions, and partnering with non-Finance stakeholders.Experience with ERP-based invoice workflows, approval routing, three-way matching, payment processing, and AP reconciliations.Experience designing or improving accounting processes and internal controls.Strong Excel and data-analysis capabilities.Preferred qualifications include:Publicly traded company experience is preferredExperience leading an AP function, team, or major process-improvement initiative.Experience in a project-based, engineering, construction, regulated, or rapidly scaling environment.Oracle Fusion Cloud AP experience.Experience developing dashboards or operational performance reporting.Experience supporting a publicly traded company or public-company readiness environment.Experience with electronic invoicing, workflow automation, supplier portals, or approved AI-enabled finance tools.Critical skills include:Demonstrated ability to resolve sensitive or high-pressure payment and supplier issues with professionalism and sound judgment.Skilled at influencing stakeholders and driving accountability without relying solely on formal authority.Able to listen to operational concerns, explain control requirements clearly, and develop solutions that balance risk and business needs.Skilled at managing competing priorities and maintaining constructive relationships during disagreementsDemonstrated discretion when handling confidential vendor, employee, banking, and payment information.Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with an ability to de-escalate issues and maintain stakeholder trust.Job functions include:Motor Abilities: Sitting for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands)Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds.Repetitive work: ProlongedSpecial Senses: Visual and audio focused workWork Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hours/dayTravel required 0-10%Salary range: $81,382.37 - $105,961.39Benefits include:Competitive compensationSalary, eligible to participate in discretionary short-term incentive paymentsComprehensive medical and wellness benefits including medical, vision, dental, life and disability, gender affirmation benefitsParental leave401k planGenerous paid time off (PTO) with 21 days annually accruedGenerous holiday schedule with 10 paid holidaysRelocation assistanceProfessional and educational support opportunities
