Basic Function: Under the general supervision of the Manager of the Secondary Response Team (SRT), the SRT-Clinical Supervisor provides clinical supervision to one or more service units engaged in the delivery of behavioral services within both a community and clinic setting to children, adolescents, families or adults. This role ensures safe, coordinated care focused on stabilization, connection to ongoing treatment, and prevention of future crises while maintaining clinical quality and compliance standards.

Supervises (Position Title): Qualified Mental Health Professionals, Mental Health Professionals, RSAs
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides and documents clinical supervision in accordance with agency performance standards.
- Supervises all services in a manner to ensure the building of client resiliency and consumer input.
- Assures that people served are provided the appropriate level and intensity of clinical services that are medically necessary.
- Oversees the continuity of care of client services including referrals to community support services; coordination between behavioral and primary healthcare; the development and approval of service plans that are comprehensive, client-centered, strength-based, medically necessary, culturally sensitive, maximize client participation and adhere to the agency model of service delivery.
- Assures that clients receive the appropriate level and intensity of services, and that services are medically necessary.
- Oversees the implementation of the client’s treatment plan and service delivery.
- Assists with the development and oversight of therapy and community support groups designed to promote recovery, resilience, life skills, and peer connection and serve as safe, trauma informed spaces fostering emotional regulation and stress reduction.
- Ensures all group programming reflects trauma informed, recovery-oriented and evidence-based practices.
- Additional duties may include the oversight of work development initiatives aligned with organizational goals and the management of partnerships with educational institutions and other stakeholders.
- Assures that all services are provided in accordance with standards of informed consent, maintenance of client rights, standards of confidentiality and are consistent with Agency procedures, licensing standards, and standards of professional practice.
- Assures that all treatment services are compliant with federal medical regulations.
- Demonstrates expertise in the implementation of diagnostic formulations and criteria using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V) and applicable pathways.
- Maintains and adheres to current rules and regulations pertaining to services delivered by the Illinois Department of Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities as well as Department of Children & Family Services, including the Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (ANCRA).
- Participates in 5 hours of training and/or other types of continuing education per quarter.
- Participates in 6 hours of supervision per quarter.
- Returns phone calls, faxes, electronic emails, intranet pages and coordinates with other community services. Sends and responds to releases of confidential information. Appropriately expresses information.
- Completes assignments within required timeframes.
- Seeks supervision when needed and functions professionally and appropriately in all staff and work-related interactions.
Specifications:
- This position calls for a minimum of a master’s degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation, counseling, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, or a related field. The individual must possess a license in their respective discipline and be a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA).
- This position requires the use of a personal auto, valid driver’s license, and motor vehicle report acceptable to the agency’s broker and verification of insurance. This position also calls for an individual who has been cleared by the State of Illinois based upon a prior history of child abuse/neglect. In addition, the individual must clear a personal background review, fingerprinting, and criminal checks.
- This position requires the individual to demonstrate the experiences, beliefs, attitude, and awareness that indicate cultural sensitivity to the client population served.
- This position requires the individual to possess the ability to partner with clients individually and/or in family to help them mobilize resources and build resilience.
- This position requires the individual to possess the ability to coordinate effectively with other team members, other Agency resources, and outside services in addressing client needs.
- This position requires the individual to possess an understanding of evidence-informed practices, engagement strategies, boundary setting, concurrent documentation, working in a community setting, organizing, motivational interviewing, and family systems.

Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to conceptualize and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Conditions: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Duties are performed in a typical office environment. No unusual or adverse working conditions exist.
