About Our Family

We are an active, on-the-go household based in San Jose. Mom is the anchor in our home, who juggles a demanding work schedule, frequent travel, and the joyful chaos of raising athletically active kids involved in multiple sports programs. We also have a sweet French Bulldog who is part of our family and the center of attention. Life here moves fast, schedules shift, and our home needs someone who can keep up with the rhythm without being asked twice.

We already have a weekly housecleaner in place, so this role is less about deep cleaning and more about the day-to-day flow and keeping things running smoothly between visits, making sure the house feels reset and welcoming, and handling all the behind-the-scenes details that to pile up. 

We are a family that thrives when there's structure underneath the activity. We're looking for someone who can bring calm, consistency, and real initiative to the role.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes pride in keeping a household humming without needing to be micromanaged. You notice what needs to be done and you do it. You're comfortable holding down the home on your own, communicating proactively, and pivoting gracefully when plans change. You have a warm, low-key energy that meshes well with a busy household, and you genuinely enjoy creating order out of the everyday. You're organized but not rigid, thorough but not slow, and you bring a level of care to your work that makes a real difference in the daily quality of life for the family. Experience supporting an active family with multiple schedules is a plus, and a love of dogs is a must.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

• Perform a home reset and tidy on each visit: vacuum high-traffic areas, wipe down counters, load/unload dishes, take out trash, and leave the home fresh and prepared for the weekly housecleaner on Tuesdays
• Oversee the overall organization and daily flow of a family home
• Create and maintain household organization systems (pantry, closets, and other ad hoc projects)
• Refresh outdoor/patio and yard areas as needed
• Monthly fridge deep-clean and refresh
• Replace batteries and light bulbs as needed; keep rechargeable lights charged
• Manage home maintenance needs, vendor coordination, and follow-up
• Refill scent diffusers on a regular schedule
• Ad hoc organizational projects including clothing purges and storage reorganization

Inventory & Errands

• Monitor and restock household supplies, pantry items, and the fridge on a regular basis
• Audit and streamline existing household subscriptions to avoid overstock and gaps (e.g., cleaning supplies, household staples)
• Run weekly errands as needed: grocery runs, returns, dry cleaning drop-off, and occasional gift shopping
• Keep dog food consistently stocked

Meal Support

• Align with family preferences with a focus on healthy fresh foods. Support meal plan and prep two dinners per week, particularly on evenings when the kids are home
• Be mindful of dietary preferences in the household: pescatarian for the parent; the kids eat a wider variety including meat, tofu, and fish, whole healthy foods.
• Wash, prep, stock healthy snacks for active young athletes.

Laundry & Linens

• Manage weekly laundry for the parent of the household, including washing, folding, steaming as needed, and putting away
• Unpack suitcases after travel and refresh travel bags; launder monthly
• Boys handle their own laundry independently

Pet Care

• Provide love and attention to the family's French Bulldog during visits
• Wash dog beds approximately once a month
• Keep dog food stocked (note: kids handle yard cleanup)

Family Support

• Help track and organize the kids' activity schedules, sports practices, and school events onto one family calendar
• Support the overall administrative flow of a household with active, schedule-heavy kids
