Program Director 2The Program Director 2 will be responsible for leadership of School Age programs that always ensure the participants' safety and foster children's social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth. The Program Director 2 will maintain positive relationships with YMCA staff, school staff, and School Age participants. Additionally, the Program Directors will support a cross-area leadership role such as training, interviewing and/or personnel recruitment.Essential functions include:Supervise Program Director 1 to ensure the effective operation of school-age before/after-school and camp programs by providing ongoing observation, coaching, and oversightProvide guidance, coaching and supervision of PD1's in areas including, but not limited to:Planning and implementation of programmingProviding a high quality, developmentally appropriate curriculumEnsuring programs are complying to state/county licensing and agency regulationsProviding support to PD1's as needed in ensuring program enrollment is maintained at appropriate levelsBe a resource to PD1's as needed with approval of, and conducting of program tours and periodic open house/registration eventsEnsure accurate and complete records are maintainedProvide support to PD1's with the planning of parent involvement events (i.e. Parent Group, picnics, holidays, and parent/child activities)Develop and maintain relationships with state childcare licensing agencies, school administration, community partners and parent groupsSupervises the Program Director 1 rolePartners with PD1 with community engagement and partnership eventsEnsure quality across functions such as partnerships, program implementation, and compliance with DHSContributes to fiscal management and compliance with identified financial targetsOversees staff scheduling, payroll processes, and conducts reporting for variancesDevelop strategies to drive enrollmentLeads management of grant programs and special fundingResponds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner, seeking guidance from supervisor(s) and peer Childcare Directors as neededEvaluate sites in areas including, but not limited to, proper implementation of curriculum and lesson planning, program quality control, and recruitment and retention of program participantsAssure compliance with state and local regulationsEnsure that program standards are met and safety procedures are followedModel superior communication and leadership to their teamProvide support and guidance where necessary to PD1 in the area of performance and behavior management for site level staffProvides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign at assigned school sites. Comparable experience in other organizations may be considered.Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree or equivalent and Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA) certificate for completing thirty hours of orientation training, or the equivalent as recognized by the Department and four years of experience in child development or related experience; ORTwo years of college (30 hours of which shall be in business or management, child or youth development, early childhood education or related field) and two years of experience in a group setting; ORFour-year degree and one year of full-time (paid or unpaid) experience in a group settingWork Schedule:The full-time work schedule for this position is generally Monday through Friday though evenings, and weekends work may be required. Hours will vary based on the before and after school and camp schedules.This position is a position within the childcare team and will be called into work in inclement weather or unusual circumstances deemed necessary by the association leadership.This is not a work from home position; requires regular site visits as well as being in the office.Work Environment and Physical Demands:Climbing, sitting, standing, pushing, walking, kneeling, and stoopingSome Exposure to the outdoor elementsExposure to electrical/mechanical mechanismsExposure to some chemical elementsAbility to lift up to 40 poundsThe YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South aims to provide quality and safe youth programs for all.
