JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a hands-on Automation & Maintenance Technician to support and improve automated manufacturing equipment in a growing production environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, integrating new equipment, and wearing multiple hats across automation, controls, electrical, mechanical, and facility maintenance. The right candidate will be a self-starter who can quickly learn new technologies, support robotic systems, and help drive automation initiatives throughout the plant.
Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, conveyors, and production machinery.
• Support the integration of new automation equipment, sensors, controls, and machinery into existing manufacturing processes.
• Commission new machines and assist with equipment installations alongside outside vendors and contractors.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues using schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Modify and install sensors, controls, and automation devices to improve equipment performance and efficiency.
• Support robotic systems and automated material handling equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings to identify and resolve issues.
• Assist with general facility maintenance tasks as needed in a smaller manufacturing environment.
• Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience as an Automation Technician, Controls Technician, Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
• Strong troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work on both electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Experience supporting automated equipment such as:
• Robots
• Conveyors
• Automated production machinery
• Sensors and control systems
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with motors, VFDs, control panels, sensors, relays, and industrial electrical systems.
• Basic understanding of PLCs and troubleshooting control systems.
• PLC programming experience
