Role Description Application & Technical Support Serve as the first technical resource for rep agencies, distributors, contractors, and our internal sales and customer service teams on product selection, application, and installation questions. Recommend luminaire and control solutions for specific applications, including competitor cross-references and value-engineered alternates. Support photometric layouts in AGi32 — review inputs, interpret results, and confirm designs meet target light levels and uniformity. Troubleshoot field issues remotely: dimming and flicker, sensor behavior, driver faults, and network connectivity. Document support cases, resolutions, and recurring issues so the answer exists the next time someone asks — and so patterns get back to engineering and production. Build control bills of materials (BOMs) from plans, fixture schedules, and customer requirements, scoped to the project's budget. Interpret and mark up control layouts in Bluebeam — zones, scenes, sensor placement, and switch locations. Prepare devices, documentation, and project files ahead of commissioning, and guide field teams through provisioning, zoning, scene setup, and sensor binding. Deliver product and controls training to reps, distributors, and customers, typically remotely. Product & Documentation Maintain certification and compliance documentation (UL, DLC, Title 24, ASHRAE 90.1) and keep product records current. Review spec sheets, installation instructions, and marketing materials for technical accuracy before release. Support product management: order codes, product data, competitor comparisons, and catalog updates. Production & Quality Support Verify bills of materials and evaluate mechanical and electrical components for new and revised assemblies. Develop wiring diagrams and work instructions for the production floor. Investigate warranty claims and returns (RGAs), determine root cause, and feed findings back to engineering and production. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and networked lighting control systems. Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to diagnose issues, interpret technical data, and recommend effective solutions. Candidates should possess Customer Support and Customer Satisfaction skills, including clear communication, active listening, and professional follow-through. Candidates should possess familiarity with lighting, controls, or building automation systems and basic networking concepts (Bluetooth, IP, wireless protocols). Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple support cases simultaneously. Relevant experience in technical support, field service, or customer-facing technical roles is preferred; experience in commercial lighting or controls is a plus.
