In this highly visible leadership role, you’ll partner directly with senior executives and business leaders to shape strategic decisions across the enterprise. This is an office role , where you’ll lead a high-performing team that serves as trusted advisors to the business, delivering insights that influence operational, financial, and long-term planning outcomes.

Job Summary

Manager Financial Planning manages financial planning, budgeting, regulatory finance, and financial modeling activities. This role also participates in and develops effective financial strategic solutions within the organization. This position communicates results and provides strategic financial recommendations driving positive financial results/changes across the organization. This role strives to enhance partnerships with customers and provides coaching and feedback to direct reports that is timely.

What you will do

• Performs all leadership duties including, but not limited to, hiring and rewarding talent, fostering an inclusive and safe workplace, partnering with employees to set clear goals and expectations, providing timely and specific feedback on performance, developing improvement plans to address performance gaps, addressing conflict with care and respect, identifying opportunities for growth and development, embracing and modeling a mindset of lifelong learning, ensuring employees report to work fit for duty, adhering to our Code of Conduct and modeling Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times.
• Oversees financial analysis, including financial forecasting, annual operating plan, strategic financial plans, project plans, project analysis, rate case filings, and financial operational planning.
• Runs the annual financial operating plan process including objective/target development, analysis, and approval by management.
• Analyzes, evaluates, and develops forecasting models.
• Continuously identifies and implements improvements in risk management and operational efficiency.
• Maintains working knowledge of company strategy, initiatives, and risk profile, applying strategic knowledge in making business recommendations.
• Partners and collaborates with key stakeholders to develop solutions for better financial or strategic outcomes that align with the company’s overall strategic plan.
• Ensures measures are in place to identify, assess, respond, and communicate risks and opportunities.
• May be responsible for helping implement legal and accounting requirements, including rate order.
• May be responsible for assisting in the defense of company positions, including rate case revenue requirements and business segment/jurisdictional cost allocations to include responding to data requests.
• Engages in other duties as needed that support our Values and help deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Emphasis in accounting, economics, finance, or related area Preferred
• Master's or Advanced Degree Preferred
• Certification Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or other financial certification Preferred

Required Experience

• 5 years of related experience
• 3 years supervisory experience or equivalent. (Equivalent supervisory experiences may include project management, providing work direction, leadership experience through temporary assignments, roles in the community or external organizations, or other demonstrated progressively more leadership experience.)

Preferred Experience

• Public accounting experience or utility, manufacturing, or related industry experience

• Demonstrated competency in financial and regulatory modeling, planning and analysis.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Pay Range:

$140,000-$160,000

This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
