Chef Sujan Sarkar brought his Michelin-starred concept, Indienne, to New York this spring.

We are seeking highly disciplined and detail-oriented Kitchen Servers / Food Runners to join our opening team. This role is fundamental to the execution of a tasting menu experience where timing, communication, and precision are critical to every guest interaction.

This is not a passive support role—Kitchen Servers are expected to operate with urgency, awareness, and a deep respect for the standards of fine dining service.

Position Overview

The Kitchen Server acts as the primary link between the kitchen and dining room, ensuring each dish is delivered with accuracy, proper positioning, and synchronized timing in accordance with tasting menu progression.

You will work in constant coordination with Captains, Sommeliers, and the culinary team to execute service at the highest level.

Core Responsibilities

• Execute flawless, silent, and precise food delivery, following exact seat positions, descriptions, and service timing
• Maintain constant communication with the expediting team to ensure proper pacing and flow of the dining experience
• Handle all plates, flatware, and glassware with care, awareness, and technical precision
• Maintain dining room standards through discreet and efficient table maintenance
• Anticipate guest and team needs without disruption to service
• Ensure all service stations are immaculately clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times
• Polish and maintain all wares to fine dining standards (spotless, lint-free, presentation-ready)
• Support Captains and Sommeliers in executing synchronized service
• Demonstrate full awareness of menu structure, ingredients, and progression of the tasting menu
• Uphold a calm, focused, and professional presence in a high-pressure environment
• Execute opening and closing responsibilities with discipline and consistency

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in fine dining or Michelin-level service preferred
• Proven ability to work in structured, systems-driven service environments
• Strong understanding of sequence of service and dining room etiquette
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to precision
• Ability to move with urgency while maintaining composure and control
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Strong sense of accountability and team awareness
• Receptive to feedback with a commitment to continuous refinement
• Professional appearance and adherence to elevated grooming standards

• Ability to execute repetitive tasks with consistency and exactness
• Maintain situational awareness across multiple tables and courses simultaneously

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods (up to 10 hours)
• Frequent bending, reaching, and continuous movement
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Compensation: Hourly ($11.35 - $17.00)
