IT Project Manager

Colossal Contracting is looking for an IT Project Manager to support our PMO team in Annapolis, MD sitting remotely with the ability to come into the office for occasional meetings. The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and programs and will act as an alternative point of contact for those projects. They will take projects from original concept through final implementation. Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Run project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis. Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables. Facilitate the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables while developing the skills to provide technical and analytical guidance to the project team.

An ideal candidate will be a quick learner, highly adaptive and comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable with periodic travel out to project sites throughout the U.S.

Requirements

• Provide end-to-end project management for complex IT projects and/or programs which include requirements gathering, analysis, design, planning, development, implementation and testing of technology solutions to ensure project requirements have been met and to ensure conformance to development standards and methodology.
• Work with business customers and partners in designing, defining, planning and implementing technology solutions to meet business needs and specifications.
• Ensure organizational needs for the development and implementation of technology solutions are documented.
• Track project progress, monitor and modify project schedules and provide status updates to project team.
• Provide insight and knowledge into improving processes related to portfolio, project and program management.
• Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance as well as various technical certifications as needed
• Other duties or tasks as assigned by management.

Required Education & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in IT project management – specifically within government contracting.
• Bachelors or Associates degree in Information Systems or a relevant technical discipline is preferred but not required
• Experience managing client expectations, implementing service improvement initiatives and communicating effectively with senior management.
• Strong process development skills, with the ability to learn and understand technical concepts in order to interpret, document and formalize procedures.
• Experience working with business users to gather and document business requirements
• Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic team environment and interact at all levels
• The ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities in a cross-functional environment.
• Experience planning, managing and tracking multiple complex IT impact projects is preferred
• PMP preferred.

Travel Required

It is expected that this position may include travel up to 10% of the time throughout the US. This is subject to change based on many factors, including business needs. Travel expenses are covered by Colossal.

Work Environment

This position will allow for partial remote work with periodic visits to the Annapolis, MD HQ as well as occasional visits to customer sites throughout the US.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8:30am-5pm with hours that may flex based on project requirements.
