Material HandlerLocation: Worcester, MA Pay Rate: $22.00/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 hours/week 1st Shift | 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM (30-minute lunch)Position Summary:The Material Handler II performs a full range of material handling duties in a manufacturing environment, supporting production operations through the accurate movement, staging, and management of raw materials, equipment, and finished goods. This role builds upon Material Handler I responsibilities and requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED required1–3 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience7–9 months of training required to become proficient in all phases of the roleValid forklift operator certification/license requiredAbility to work independently after trainingKey Responsibilities:Material Handling & Production SupportSelect, move, stack, and stage bulk, bin, and specialized materials for production and storage areasSet up complex equipment and material configurations in support of production operatorsCheck inventory levels on the production floor and supply materials as neededWeigh materials and products and record data on tags, labels, or production schedulesInventory & Systems:Perform limited inventory and warehousing functions, including cycle countsReceive and issue materials using SAPRetrieve, update, and maintain accurate inventory recordsGenerate inventory and materials reports from SAPEquipment Operation:Operate forklifts and other mechanized or motorized equipmentUnload, transport, and stack materials using lifting devices or manual handlingVerify load capacity, balance, and safe operation of forkliftsSafety & Procedures:Follow detailed procedures and standardized instructions for material handlingHandle hazardous materials safely when assigned, including proper storage and movementMaintain knowledge of production layouts to place materials without detailed instructionKnowledge & Skills:Strong understanding of grain materials, equipment, and finished productsAbility to distinguish between materials to meet production demandsFamiliarity with production plans, methods, and material handling techniquesBasic computer skills, including keyboard use for inventory trackingPhysical Requirements:Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 poundsStand, walk, reach, and use hands for extended periodsFrequently stoop, kneel, crouch, and bendAbility to talk, hear, and smell in a manufacturing environmentWork Environment:Exposure to moving mechanical partsFrequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and non-weather-related heatLoud noise levels typical of a manufacturing facilityAccountability & Supervision:Perform repetitive and routine assignments following established proceduresWork under the guidance of a group leader or supervisorReceive general instructions for routine work and specific guidance for new tasks
