Director of Quality

Based in Hollywood, FL, Sintavia, LLC designs and additively manufactures critical components for the Aerospace, Defense, & Space industry. We are seeking a career-minded individual for the position of Director of Quality – Additive Manufacturing, preferably someone who is looking for long-term growth and potential. SUMMARY The Quality Director leads a single, integrated Quality organization comprised of the Quality department (including Non-Destructive Testing/NDT), the Materials Lab, and the Mechanical Testing team, providing unified strategic and hands-on leadership across all three functions. This role owns the Quality Management System (QMS) and serves as the organization's senior working expert on NADCAP and AS9100 audits; preparing for, hosting, and directly participating in audits, and driving corrective action to closure, within an aerospace metal additive manufacturing (AM) environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Directs and oversees one integrated Quality organization spanning the Quality department (including NDT), the Materials Lab, and the Mechanical Testing team, along with all associated supervisory staff; evaluates production operations at a strategic level to ensure products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and specification requirements Collaborates with management and senior staff to draft quality standards, facilitates communication across Quality, NDT, the Materials Lab, Mechanical Testing, and production leadership, reports status to executive leadership and regulatory/customer agencies as required, and provides technical consultation and leadership to cross-functional project teams supporting metal AM products within an aerospace additive manufacturing environment Owns, maintains, and continuously improves the site QMS with hands‑on, working-level compliance to AS9100 and customer requirements; serves as the organization's primary hands‑on lead for NADCAP audits (NDT, Materials Testing/Chemical, Metallic Materials, AM , Heat Treat and related commodities), personally preparing evidence, hosting auditors, and driving findings to closure Plans, leads, and/or participates in AS9100 certification, surveillance, and internal audits and management review; maintains NADCAP accreditation/merit status, performs compliance and system‑effectiveness audits, leads RCCA response to audit findings, and reviews quality documentation (checklists, logs, procedures) for accuracy and audit readiness Directs Materials Lab and Mechanical Testing operations (e.g., tensile, hardness, metallography, chemical/spectrographic analysis) as a single combined team, ensuring testing is performed per ASTM, AMS, and customer specifications, and ensures equipment calibration, method validation, and accreditation requirements are maintained Directs NDT operations, ensuring methods, procedures, and approved practices meet customer, NADCAP, and regulatory requirements, and oversees NDT personnel qualification/certification; provides technical assistance to inspection, NDT, and additive manufacturing teams and develops detailed inspection instructions Conducts random inspections and quality control checks, assesses test results and approves recommended changes, and programs/operates CMM, 3D scanning, and other measuring equipment, including layout inspection and GD&T Develops and monitors quality metrics, levels, and trends across Quality, NDT, Materials Lab, and Mechanical Testing; collects, evaluates, and develops statistical data and monitors statistical process control Analyzes product discrepancies and recommends corrective/preventive actions; develops test procedures and performs evaluation tests, capability studies, quality audits, and other engineering evaluations utilizing Six Sigma methodology; resolves problems, drives process improvements, and responds to customer inquiries regarding quality issues Interacts with customers, suppliers, designers, and others to resolve design, development, production, and acceptance issues, primarily in the advanced manufacturing area, and resolves internal/external customer complaints and disputes involving product quality in a manner that prevents recurrence Trains associates in theory and application of quality tools (statistics, inspection methods, problem solving, process analysis/improvement) and assists with other tasks as required QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree from four‑year college or university in a technical or related field required Significant progressive quality leadership experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment, including direct, hands‑on oversight of NDT, materials, and/or mechanical test lab operations Hands‑on working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including day‑to‑day ownership and maintenance of QMS processes and documentation Demonstrated hands‑on experience leading and/or actively participating in NADCAP audits (NDT and Materials Testing commodities) and AS9100 certification/surveillance audits Demonstrated ability to balance department efficiency and service excellence Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship‑building skills; ability to interact positively with teammates at various levels across the company and customers Demonstrated ability to work well with cross‑functional groups Self‑motivated, able to multi‑task, and detail oriented Strong organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills Must be able to learn procedures quickly and be a team player Able to maintain a professional demeanor and a polished professional appearance Knowledge of metal additive manufacturing processes and applicable aerospace material/process specifications a plus Background checks will be completed on all candidates considered for hire.
