Laborer - Utility Construction

We are seeking hardworking Laborers to support utility construction crews on underground and above-ground infrastructure projects. This role assists with the installation of electric, telecommunications, water, and natural gas systems while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Candidates should be comfortable performing physically demanding labor in an outdoor construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of underground and above-ground utility piping systems.
• Dig trenches, grade materials, and perform site preparation using hand tools.
• Load, unload, carry, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Support pipe placement, wrapping, joining, and sealing activities.
• Mix, pour, and assist with the placement of concrete and asphalt.
• Operate hand tools and assist with equipment-related tasks including jackhammering and trench work.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and standards.
• Work closely with crew members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule.
• Perform additional labor duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or general labor experience preferred.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting, carrying, digging, and working outdoors.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Preferred Experience

• Utility construction experience involving water, sewer, drainage, electric, telecommunications, or natural gas projects.
• Experience working with concrete and asphalt.
• Familiarity with jackhammers, hand tools, and construction equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation to various job sites.

Work Environment

• Based out of Bow, NH, with project work in Hanover, NH.
• Initial onboarding and orientation conducted in Auburn, MA.
• Outdoor construction environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Frequent lifting, digging, bending, and standing throughout the workday.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, NH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.51 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
