Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. Responsible for ensuring all clinical documentation reflects assessments, treatment plans, interventions, and responses, while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patient needs and develop comprehensive nursing care plans tailored to surgical procedures.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgery.
  
  
• 
  Perform a variety of professional nursing services, including circulating and scrubbing in the operating room.
  
  
• 
  Assign, supervise, and evaluate work of non-nursing direct care providers in the OR setting.
  
  
• 
  Ensure proper documentation of patient assessments, procedures, and responses in compliance with hospital protocols.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current certifications and licenses required for surgical nursing practices.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active NJ State Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
  
  
• 
  Possess an Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN), with a preference for Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  
  
• 
  BLS certification through AHA is required; ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate clinical knowledge and analytical skills necessary for effective nursing care planning.
  
  
• 
  Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  
  
• 
  Experience in Level I trauma settings and scrub skills are a plus.
