About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its mission-driven team. The successful candidate will provide strategic and tactical legal counseling on a wide range of issues, with a focus on commercial contracting, intellectual property, privacy/security, supply chain, and M&A/Project Finance. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's rapid growth and requires a passionate and experienced attorney who is comfortable in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving workplace. The ideal candidate will have a J.D. from an accredited law school, be a member of the California Bar in good standing, and have at least 8 years of legal experience, including a significant background in reviewing, negotiating, and executing commercial agreements. A strong track record of collaboration, excellent communication skills, and a self-starting, results-oriented approach are essential. The role demands a candidate who is intellectually curious, values diversity and inclusion, and is ready to dive into unfamiliar territory. While not mandatory, bonus qualifications include experience as in-house counsel, proficiency in contract management platforms, and a background in areas such as hardware manufacturing, supply chain, SAAS, customer support, electricity distribution grid, utility regulation, and virtual power plants.
