Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Cardiac Med/Surg Telemetry night shift travel assignment in Manchester, NH, requiring at least 2 years of experience and ACLS certification.

Details

• Cardiac Medical/Surgical unit (F200) in a hospital setting
• 23-bed unit with 1 treatment room and a staff of 58
• Night shift patient ratio is 1:5; day/evening ratio is 1:4
• Cardiac medical patient population including hemodynamically stable MI, acute/chronic HF, new onset AFib with or without RVR, stable dysrhythmias, and ICU transfers
• Procedural patients include cardiac caths (radial or femoral, without intervention), ablations, cardioversions, ICDs, pacers, medication loads, CardioMEMS, and pericardial drains
• Patients requiring cardiac drips including Amio, Diltiazem, renal-dose Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Lasix (up to 40mg), and insulin drips
• Additional populations include neuro/CVA patients and pulmonary patients requiring BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and Salter cannula
• Equipment includes telemetry monitoring (some hard-wired rooms), vein finders, portable and continuous pulse oximetry, vital sign machines, blood glucose monitors, mechanical lifts, and Dopplers
• EMR: Allscripts with medication scanning and soft-lab capabilities
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within alike units required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac telemetry or med-surg telemetry
• Strong cardiac telemetry knowledge and skill set required
• Experience with cardiac procedural patients (caths) and cardiac drips required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Hospital scrubs are required as the dress code
• Strong med-surg background with telemetry is preferred
• Ideal candidates are engaging, team-oriented, flexible/adaptable, and patient-centered
• Night shift team consists of a CNC/Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 MT
